Stars Dont Die

Stars Don’t Die is an artist-led platform I founded in 2022 to channel sarcoma awareness into a living archive of expression. Born from personal loss, grief, and dislocation, it emerged in response to the profound transformations that young people undergo when confronted with critical thresholds in their lives. As someone who has lived through such a threshold, I felt it was essential to open a space where these experiences could be explored, revealed, and held, while also actively championing sarcoma awareness within the community.

Our presence spans cultural programming such as art exhibitions and live music performances, as well as more intimate, dialogic forms of engagement that explore the emotional, social, and existential nuances surrounding sarcoma and the critical thresholds it marks in young lives.

We are a non-profit initiative. All funds raised support our ongoing work and are donated to the Australia and New Zealand Sarcoma Association.

The event embodies the multiplicity at the heart of our work: supporting them, supporting us, supporting artists, and supporting young people.

The poster was created specifically for our annual Run for Love event in September, where our club’s ultramarathon runners take on the challenge of running 100km for sarcoma.

Mike Day 2023 & 2024

MIKE DAY was a live music experience hosted by Stars Don’t Die, held in memory of Michael. As our official launch event in 2023—and reprised in 2024 by popular demand—it marked a foundational moment in building our community and articulating our mission. Featuring a handpicked lineup of some of Sydney’s most compelling emerging artists, Mike Day brought people together in a spirit of solidarity, creativity, and care. More than a concert, it became a vital space for raising sarcoma awareness and affirming the collective power of youth-led cultural action.
